HOT CARDIO HOOPING
We turn the thermostat UP and use a variety of basic hoopdance moves in short bursts geared towards raising heart rate, toning muscles, and detoxifying the body! Basic hoop experience required (waist hooping, and basic hand grips).
Bring water and be prepared to sweat!
MULTI-LEVEL HOOP CLASS
This class focuses on super fun hoop drills and moves and is open to all experience levels. The importance of hooping in both directions will be covered, along with select advanced moves and group activities.
Basic moves that will be reviewed at the start of each class session:
1. Pump
2. Recovery
3. Handgrips
Advance move instruction will vary by class session.
HoopDANCE WORKSHOP
Explore basic hooping moves and recovery methods, PLUS play with all the juicy ingredients that transform basic hooping into a captivating and flowing hoopDANCE that is uniquely your own. Be ready to expand your idea of what hoopdance is really all about! No experience necessary.
This unique workshop is broken down into two parts:

WHAT IS THE HOOPGIRL® WORKOUT?
The HoopGirl® Workout is feel-good fitness! Learn to hoop on your torso, arms, legs, and off body in elaborate arcs, spins and jumps. Hoopdance can help you feel "sexy" that is, full of confidence, inner radiance, power and poise. Explore pleasure as your primary motivation for movement. You learn how to navigate using feeling instead of sight or thought -- becoming responsive, breathing deeply, and creating fluid transitions. Special attention is given to micromovements of the body, working with the downbeat, freeing the head, unleashing your own style. Guidance for performance given throughout class. Free yourself in ecstatic undulation, experiment with vocal release, and express attitude and spunk! Team-building activities build a sense of community and create laughter. Performance opportunities allow us each to shine and feel appreciation and joy. A variety of music -- from electronic house music, R&B to classical and world music will provide a rich tapestry of sound for your dance.
BEGINNER 1 AND BEGINNER 2 HOOPGIRL® WORKOUT CLASS SERIES
For all HoopGirl® Workout Series classes, please come prepared with a water bottle and wear comfortable workout clothes. Hoop rentals are included, and series students will also have the opportunity to purchase hoops at a discounted rate. Lots of individual attention is provided. Space is limited. Must be at least 16 years of age.
What is covered in the HoopGirl® Workout for Beginners?
No experience neccessary! The extended class time in this series allows for lots of one-on-one attention and detailed instruction. You will explore dancing while hooping, with ample time to master moves. Each day is devoted to increasing awareness in a different part of the body while working with a specific principle of hoopdance.
BEGINNER MOVES COVERED: Pump, Float, Wild West, Slinky, Snake, Booty Bump, Limbo, Barrel Roll, Booty Blitz, Spunk, Swish, Warrior, Leap, Whisper, Toss, Revolving Door, Electric Slide, Pin-Up, Scissor Kick, Roll, Butt Spin. This material is spread out between two class series clusters into Beginner 1 and Beginner 2. Mastery of each move and principle in both hoop directions is emphasized.
Beginner 1 six-week series: No hoop dance experience required. Part one of the HoopGirl® beginner series is taught on 6 consecutive Wednesdays from 12-1pm in Reno. An exciting, sweat-inducing hoop journey! Learn the first half of 30 basic moves to establish a solid skill base for fun! Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 can be taken in any order.
Beginner 2 six-week series: No hoop dance experience required. Part two of the HoopGirl® beginner series is taught on 6 consecutive Wednesdays from 8-9pm in Reno. An exciting, sweat-inducing hoop journey! Learn the second half of 30 basic moves to establish a solid skill base for fun! Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 can be taken in any order.
INTERMEDIATE 1 AND INTERMEDIATE 2 HOOPGIRL® WORKOUT CLASS SERIES
For all HoopGirl® Workout Series classes, please come prepared with a water bottle and wear comfortable workout clothes. What is covered in the HoopGirl® Workout Intermediate?
Every day is devoted to exploring a different emotion through hoopdance. Continue to deepen your knowledge of hoopdance principles and learn over 35 new moves! Explore creative expression through more directed gestures, vocalization and facial expressions while hoopdancing. You will take moves from the Beginner Workout and use them on different planes, developing strength and endurance.
Pre-requisites: HoopGirl Workout for Beginners or mastery of all moves from that training seminar in both direction.
INTERMEDIATE MOVES COVERED: Play, Garter, Bun, Pop, Sass, Boing, Horizon, Rocker, Carousel, Bingo, Wings, Roar, Dragonfly, Jingle, Disco, Tailspin, Jackrabbit, Prance, Empress, Dolphin, Sparkle, Pizza Toss, Portal, Whirlpool, Swan, Libra, Magic, Phoenix, Diamond, Eagle, Squeeze... and more!
Intermediate 1 six-week series: Part one of the HoopGirl® intermediate series is taught on 6 consecutive Mondays from 8-9pm in Reno. The mind-spirit course... learn the first half of 35 challenging new moves while building theatricality, expressiveness and flow. Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 can be taken in any order.
Intermediate 2 six-week series: Part two of the HoopGirl® intermediate series is taught on 6 consecutive Thursdays from 8-9pm in Reno. The mind-spirit course... learn the second half of 35 challenging new moves while building theatricality, expressiveness and flow. Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 can be taken in any order.
